We just bought a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Right after we bought it we had problems starting it. We replaced the ignition coil and it ran great. A few days later the problem returned. Another coil fixed the problem. We did some research and found that there was a recall on the wiring harness that connects the ignition coil. The new harness was supposed to have a resistor built into it.

Our Jeep does not the new wiring harness, and because of the age of the vehicle, the local dealership says they have no records of it.

Can anyone give me any information about this wiring harness and what kind of resistor I might need to add into my existing one? We are using the right coil from the dealership, but with only temporary success. Any help at all would be great.

The only other information I can add is this:

1993 Jeep Grant Cherokee 4X4. 6 Cylinder engine.

There are no other markings anywhere to help with describe the engine.

Thanks
