ignition coil keeps going bad on my jeep?

I've had to replace my ignition coil 4 times in the past year on my 94 jeep grand cherokee. Just had one replaced a week ago and last night I hit a bad bump and car stalled out. I jiggled wires connected to distributor cap (this has worked in the past, don't ask me why) and got it started. But today jeep won't start up and jiggling wires didn't help.
Mechanic doesn't charge me for part but does for labor, but now I'm fed up! But also scared to switch mechanics because I think current one owes me some work, considering he hasn't found the problem, yet still keeps charging me for labor!
Any advice or suggestions would be great, thanks!!

Sounds like you have a short in the connectors for the coil. Go to another mechanic and ask them for a free estimate. Tell them that you think it is the wires. Make sure that they check those out. If it is a short, it is possible that you have fried the coil too, which would explain why you have replaced it numerous times.

Yea switch mechanics. That is a very simple electrical system. But, it does have a diagnosis system. You can rent a tester from a auto zone / o riley for a deposit that you will get back when you return in(loan a tool program). read the instructions carefully then use it and it will tell you if the coil is the problem.

Hate to ask this but have you checked other things like the roter. the cap itself or the wire/ terminal from the coil to the cap being in bad or worn(where it is not staying on due to being removed over and over ie a pair of pliers will keep it tight once but to many times and your will break the terminal).

Also have you checked your grounds?
Have you checked the silioniod (this can be tested -once removed at a auto parts store- don't recommend you do the screwdriver trick that's a side of the road kind of deal)

How does it run when it is started?

If you don't feel like doing the above. You may want to call(call first) your jeep dealer and have them test the electrical system guessing less then $300 out the door(dealer electrical parts)and it will be fixed.

Goodluck
