If your son or daughter was drafted to partipate in the wars in iraq or...

the draft is a democratic party proposal... i personally wud not want a back stabbing draft dodger around me in combat... for that matter a draftee is worthless too..... volunteer or get out...

Since Obama is President and has continued the war in Iraq and escalated the war in Afghanistan, they must be good wars, so I wouldn't stop my children from going.

Also, there hasn't been a draft in the U.S. in 36 years REPUBLICAN President Nixon ended it.

I served, my husband served and my daughter served. It is/was our duty to this country just as it is yours. You are a coward and should stop looking for support for your cowardice. What happened did daddy try to make you go?

I would, depending on the situation, either enroll them in college, sign them up as Conscientious Objectors, or encourage them to go to jail for their beliefs and hire the best lawyer I could find.

If they didn't want to go, I would even consider moving them to Canada or Mexico.

There is no such thing as a just war.

@Bev B - Just because you were stupid enough to join, doesn't make those who decide not to cowards, no matter how badly you want it. I believe that it requires more bravery to stand up for what you believe in (peace) than it does to blindly follow orders that you haven't thought through. But that's just me.

Well your question is moot because we happen to have a generation of young men and women who love this country and what it stands for and are willing to go and do what you apparently lack the fortitude to do. There is no draft as you well know . A fact I'm sure brings you a sigh of relief.

My daughter joined the Air Force reserve because she wanted to serve her country. Although she has a great job and is a full time student she volunteered for deployment. Dodge the draft? Not in this family sonny.

Edit: zeitgeist....You sure must be proud of yourself. How dare you speak so disrespectfully to someone who has put her life on the line for your ungrateful ass. Someone whose daughter has also served. Doesn't it make you just a little ashamed that they have done what you don't pack the gear to do?

Bev B...Thank you, your husband, and your daughter for your service.

Chet....This just in. It has just been revealed that George W. Bush officially requested deployment to Vietnam but was denied because he lacked the stick time. At least the man served. Stories to the contrary are a figment of Dan Rather's liberal imagination.

I would ask George W. Bush, Rush Limbaugh, Dick Cheney, etc on how they managed to dodge a war. Whether it was Daddy's money, school or pesky anal warts, I think they'll convincingly offer the chickenhawk's point of view on war avoiding.

my children are good Americans they would go i have no say in it its there choice. but drafted dodge is a shameful way to be just shows your a chicken shit

Genius boy there says there will never be a draft. Somebody tell him the Dems have been pushing for the reinstatement of it for about 5 years now. Charlie Rangle boy...read something. The boy might also take note that democrats LOVE the draft and always have. It took those horrible republicans to get rid of conscripts and even offer amnesty to those who fled the draft. Again..he should try reading.

If they choose to go that is their choice ...if they are conscripted I would spend any and all resources to get them relocated.
