If your parter's semen comes out after sex, does that mean that no sperm made its...

...way into your cervix? Gross question, I know. Sorry. My husband and I are TTC, and back when I was on the pill, I remember that every time we had sex, a lot of fluid (semen?) came out afterward. When we did the BD the other night, I stayed lying down for a while after and nothing came out. But last night, even with lying down for a while, a lot came out. Is this semen that didn't go anywhere? Did no sperm make it into my cervix? Again, so sorry for the gross question, but if there is a way to keep it all in, please let me know!

Semen is kind of sticky. The majority of the liquid will fall out but some stays behind and sticks to the walls of the vagina. If you've ever looked at a man's ejaculate, you'll notice that it's chunky and liquid altogether. There is most likely no way to keep it all inside of you. Gravity will take its course and some will fall out. But remember that semen is sticky and that it will also stick inside of you.

it does that with everyone it will shoot up and the rest will come back out,its normal, its probably the amount that comes out it might have been loads that time thats why it came bk out but not to worrie

Don't be fooled. Of course some sperm will swim up into the body and may fertilise with an egg from the ovary. Hell, there are zillions of little sperm ejaculated and it is quiet normal for some to come out. Get yourself a book and read the real facts. The amount of semen at any one time also depends on the individual male some have less than others. But yes it is a gross subject - i would think that being married and all you would know about such things.

You'll have to measure that exactly. Only one sperm needed from the billion and a half available, to get pregnant. Have yourself checked, might be a misplaced tampon or some other blockage.
Peace.

It really isn't a good indicator (because only one sperm needs to make it), but I can remember nothing coming out each of the 3 times I did become pregnant. At least it happened within a few days of when I should've ovulated, so I can only assume those were the days I became pregnant.

Hopefully his little guys (or girls!) made it the other night. Good luck!

Semen comes out because it's liquid... and liquid does that. But there are already thousands if sperm in your cervical mucus within a couple of seconds of his ejaculation. It's one of those sperm that will (with a little luck) fertilize the egg.

if you were not so conservative,
to tell you your question is NOT gross. Im still 15,
but I dont find it gross.
Its normal here in YA..
anyway

I find it hard to comprehend..
what do you mean "got out" came out?
from your vagina?

if the semem excretes out of your vagina after sex, that doesnt mean it didnt made its way through your cervix
ofcourse its normal that some excess goes out.
maybe he just made a small amount of semen that day.
