I have been on Benning, Bragg, Lewis, McCoy and visited Schofield, Sill, and Hood. I didnt like Benning probably because I have spent most of my infantry life there in the summer and its Hot and Humid. It does have a nice location to go to Alabama, Atlant, or Florida though and the base is big providing a lot of opportunities. Bragg isnt bad but there really isnt too much to do around it and Fayetville, though improving a little bit, still kind of sucks. Ft McCoy is in Wisconsin and that is where I did a lot of my training as a Guardsman. Its ok size but only because its a deployment center for the Army and since most people there are guard it wont help you. Wisconsin gets cold anyway but have really nice spring/summer weather. Ft Lewis is probably one of my favorite. I was originally born in Washington. You have Mt Rainier, Mr Adams, Mt St Helens, Seattle, Vancouver, Portland, the Pacific Ocean and seven different climate zones ranging from temperate rainforest to prairies. Schofield barracks wasnt bad but its pricey I hear. Honolulu has the best night life I have ever experienced and is a great city if you dont mind the people. Being on an island kind of sucks though. Colorado I have heard amazing things about also. I am actually hoping to go there if I get into the SF branch. My wifes uncle was an Intel Officer there and still lives there. There is Eglin Air Force Base in Florida but that is mainly for the Ranger Training Brigade and an SF group. They do need support personnel for the SF group though. Germany and Italy also are good choices I hear. As for Sill and Hood I dont rank them too high since they are in the plains and its kind of boring. Hope this helps somewhat. I think where ever you go you will enjoy yourself and there will be something to do.
