Dear Sir,
First, remember that the only thing you friend is given is a jumpsuit, cheap soap, horrible toothpaste, and 3 meals a day. His last meal is at 5:00, so if he stays up late with the guys or watching a movie, he is hungry. Let me give you some ideas and the price:
-Shampoo $2.00
-Shower shoes $3.00
-Toothpaste $3.00
-Envelopes and stamps- $.05 and $.42 for stamps
-Paper to write $1.50
-Decent soap $1.00
-Snacks .50-1.00 Remember-you get hungry before meals.
-Snacks listed twice because a snack buys you out of a lot of trouble
-Send him underwear and shirts. Thats a rare commodity.
-Send him a radio and headphones
-Batteries for radio $1.00 for 2
Now remember, this is a basic necessity list. If you want to gaurantee your friend has something to offer others-send a little more to take care of his mates. Nobody messes with a nice guy who has the ability to help a brother out. $40.00 a week would keep him very comfortable. $20-30, thats okay too.
