changed the sexuality of characters? Note that I am not against homosexuality. I am against stereotypical and unrealistic homosexuality that is written in by female writers for other female writers to fulfill their own fantasies.
This applies to characters that are explicitly homosexual or straight. Would you be offended if fanfic writers made an explicitly straight character homosexual just because they think another, completely unsupported, pairing looks totally cute, or if they make an explicitly homosexual character straight also for no good reason at all? Would you also dislike it if they completely trash the original love interest to make way for their own pairing?

Basically, fanfic writers are particularly prone to doing what you just described. They'll often change the sexuality of a character so that the character can be with a not-so-accurate love interest that is either a completely new character, or a character in the story that they were never attracted to.
