If your a 18 yr old and you get married how can you apply for Financial aid for school?

Ok my friend did her Financial aid with her parents Taxes, but now she got married right after graduation so she doesn't know how to apply to get it being married????
 
Being married does make you an independent student, however if she is doing the 09/10 FAFSA (which is the one you use until 07/10) and did not file 2008 taxes as being married, then she is still considered independent on this fafsa. It will not be until after she files her 2009 taxes that she will be independent and cannot use those tax forms until 07/10.
 
She needs to make a correction to her FAFSA. They will most likely ask her to prove this though so she needs to make sure she keeps her marriage certificate handy.
