If you were the Lions' GM what would you do on Draft day?

You have the #1 and #20 overall pick in the Draft...what would you do?

Here's what I would do; I would draft QB Matt Stafford with the 1st selection, and get either WR Jeremy Maclin or WR Darrius Heyward-Bey depending on who's available (they need a WR to replace Roy Williams).

Your thoughts?
Brandon S, what do you mean they don't need any more WR. They dont have guys like Mike Williams and Charles Rogers anymore. And they also traded WR Roy Williams. They DO need a WR.
Dan M are you Nuts? Getting 2 DT's?
Dan M yes Defense is very important...however DT is like the most Irrelevant Position. LB and DE are the most important, then CB, then Safety. DT's hardly ever get sacks they just plug up holes.
 
recievers are the last thing they need serioulsy they need a lot of help on Defense, and O-line, I WOULD NOT TAKE SANCHEZ
 
Go after Pat White or that underrated cause he is brother guy from Utah's QB.

Good question.I would trade down and get as many good pics as i could get.There's not a super star player that stands out but its a deep draft.
 
Trade down and get multiple picks for multiple holes. They don't need 1 savior, they need like 10 pretty good players.

they dont need any more recievers dude ....one they need a quarterback and also an offensive line that can block the quarterback....address the line and then they might be decent....to bad for the lions cuz its gonna be years b4 they get any where
 
I would trade the pick away. The Lions needs are greater than one player can fill. They might be able to get an additional 2nd and 3rd round pick and swap 1st round picks with someone. I think that would be the best thing to do.

The Lions offense was'nt bad last year for a team that went 0-16 not once did they get shut out The Lions Defense gave up 517 points

The Defensive side of the ball is where i would work 1st .
Picking Offensive players in the 1st round has'nt worked out very well for them . Time to take a new approach


No not Nuts , you asked if i was the GM what would i do i know Defense wins championships so thats where i would start.

If i didnt get 2 DT's then i would get 1 DT and a very athletic OLB 1 who could come up and be a down lineman maybe Aaron Curry -Wake Forest or Brian Cushing - USC

Terrance Cody will not be available if they pick OLB 1st
 
WR? is this Matt Millen? Lions have a lot of needs. the best thing they could do is probably trade down and try and get a bunch of picks. But if not then they need to get Stafford with the #1. And then I think they need to focus on fixing the Oline or get some help in the secondary, they needs Defensive linemen and linbackers as well. Essentially they need more picks Not just 1 or 2 studs. alst thing they need is a WR right now. They need to forget about WR and RB for a while.
 
lions need to trade down...get more picks.for next year...then trade next year back into 1 spot for which ever qb is available..who nows they my be number one again next year..this years crop got thin with tebow and bradford going back to college..I would trade both number 1's for a ton of picks this year and next year...Stock pile..Like dallas did when they got rid of hershel walker to minnesota..It set them up for years..
