What on earth? No way. Gasol is probably one of the best power forwards in the game now -- he can score from midrange, at the basket, is a good rebounder, and a decent defender when he doesn't have to guard bigger centers. He's probably a second or third team All-NBA pick.
Davis is a injury-wracked, obstinate, free-shooting guard; while Phil probably could rein him in, his contract is massive for his production, which is probably going to decline as he gets older. Gordon is nice, but not worth trading Gasol. Thorton is a wildly inconsistent scorer with horrible defensive instincts. Ariza is a far better player.
So, in all, the answer is an emphatic no. Can't even begin to think why the Lakers would even harbor thoughts of something like this.
