if we both lived together then he should have a say in how we decorate. If it is just my house and i love the picture/ornament/whateveritis then I would tell them "I appreciate your opinion, but you are totally wrong, I am right, it looks fabulous and it is staying right there on the wall where I put it"

If Adam objected I would not put it up. Simple. We are a couple and if something would bother him that much I would feel like a selfish prig if I did. Just me though. He did put up my mawkish plates LOL!
