if you wanted to be an financial consultant.. would it be better to major in ...?

would it be better to major in finance and information systems and a minor in accounting? or major in account and minor in the other? some people say having accounting as your main focus is better because its far easier to find work, but i've also read that being an accountant and crossing over to financial consultant can be a very big and different step. What kind of path should i take for financial consulting?
