I'm a high schooler and i have a dream of becoming a pastry chef when i grow up! The only problem is , using any sort of alcohol or wine ( even if it evaporates as you cook ) is completely forbidden in my religion , so i was wondering, does that crush my chance of becoming a great pastry chef ? Will people not hire me because i cant cook with alcohol ?
and people say you should experience it hands on before you decide to take schooling to become a pastry chef, so where do you recommend to try it out ? Do they just let you intern for a bit ( even if all the experience you have is baking at home ?) and is it fun being a pastry chef? i know you have to withstand a lot of heat and wake up really early, but is it worth it ? do you love your job ? and do you get a good pay ?
( sorry for all the questions! no one i know really knows anything about this , so please answer if you know any answer regarding these questions ! thank you so so much ! )
