Sort of like using only 1 or 2 threads of embroidery floss for cross stitch....
I want to make a beanie with thin yarn and smaller stitches (coincidentally i have a set of very thin dpns, it's the only size i have) but at the store i couldn't find the kind of thin yarn i want to work with. All i have is yarn that is meant to be knitted on 5mm or size 8 needles (And the Caron "Simply Soft" which also calls for 5mm needles but is somehow thinner and seems like it could be used with thinner needles (the ones i have are like 3mm.) And so was wondering if this would work before i go crazy and sacrifice + destroy my lovely thick yarn for a stupid reason... Like will it work at all if i try to knit half the strands of 4 ply yarn on size 3mm needles...?
