if you trim your pubic hair, does the hair become really sharp and coarse?

I've once clipped a small patch of my hair down there with scissors to see how coarse they wld turn out and for a couple days it was soo itchy and irritating and i was in pain. the hair was poking through my underwear like sharp pencil leads.
so if i trim the hair down there, wld it cause super irritatingly sharp hair.
