If you just have a miscarriage will it still show it on a test?

My ex is telling me she miscarried my baby. I had know idea she was pregnant, nor did she. but she spoke to a few friends and they are saying that it was a miscarriage because of the pain with her period and heavy bleeding. This will be the second period she has had since we had sex. I made her take a pregnancy test and it was negative. she has yet to see a doc but, she is a women and knows her body. shouldn't the test show that she was still pregnant? she is acting like a stalker.....
She is also telling my circle of friends that she had a miscarriage and it was my baby. The pregnancy test was negative and she has yet to see a doctor..... Am I right to question. is this a ploy to get me back?

during my miscarriage I had positive pregnancy tests for many weeks until the hcg levels went down. Your gf may have had one, maybe not.
 
A pregnancy test can show a positive result if you have miscarried. There is still enough hormone in your body to produce a positive result
