If you had the opportunity to write an ep. for an animated series....

I remember when Tiny Toons held that contest and allowed one of their viewers to basically write a script for an episode, basically that Buster and Babs Go Hawaiian episode. Obviously about half of it was written by actual writers, but it was probably cool to see some of the stuff those three girls had written on the screen. If series nowadays chose to go that route again (ha ha), which would you like to write an episode for?

I would have liked to write for Garfield & Friends. Garfield is probably about the only fictional character that I would be any good at keeping in-character, and the cartoon had a sort of dry wit that I can usually nail.

Family Guy. The episode where evil Stewie returns. Brian shuts up about politics and social issues. And, Meg actually does something.

I'd probably write for The Simpsons about whatever was going through my head that day. Certainly would be better than the other scripts, sadly.

The Secret Saturdays - Could write a wicked (and completely serious and dark) episode of that show. I'm real interested in cryptids, so I'm sure I could find a particularly terrifying one for that ep.

I would write some episodes for cartoon cross-overs (i.e. "Family Guy" and "American Dad", "Rocko's Modern Life" and "Spongebob Squarepants", "the Road Rovers" and "the Swat Kats", "Silly Symphonies" and "Looney Tunes", "Ed, Edd and Eddy" and "Catscratch", "Beavis and Butthead" and "Ren and Stimpy", "Snoopy and Garfield", "Smurfs and Snorks", etc.).

I would write an episode for "the Legend of Zelda" cartoon show, of where Princess Zelda's evil reflection comes back to seek revenge on Princess Zelda and her beau, Link, with the help of Link's evil shadow.

I would write an episode for "Captain N: the Game Master", of where Captain N meets the "Super Mario Bros." gang in Videoland. I have a sneaking suspicion, however, that the "Super Mario Bros." characters already have their place in Videoland, they just do not appear in any of the episodes.

I would write an episode for "Tiny Toon Adventures" titled, "Trouble in Wackyland", of where all of the "Tiny Toon Adventures" gang interact with their "Looney Tunes" counterparts during teacher/student time, but when Gogo Dodo spends time with his father, the original Do-Do bird who chased Porky in Wackyland, trouble seeks them when construction workers decide to tear down Wackyland, so all of Gogo Dodo's friends decide to come to the rescue by saving him, his father, and their wacky yet lovable home.

I would write a special/episode for "the House of Mouse", of where the Disney villains decide to team up, once again, to save the House of Mouse, but this time they do more than just take over the House of Mouse, they decide to take out their oppotents and everything else that goes with it.

I would write an episode of "Family Guy", of where Chris and Meg get partners who fall in love with them (for real), Brian meets and decides to date Brenna (a cat who has many things in common with him, and guess what she is no human), and Meg decides to get revenge on Peter and whoever has abused her, and check this out, the family becomes a real family again. Additionally, the unfunny jokes are edited out.

I would involve the "Real Ghost Busters" action figure, Fearsome Flush (the ghost toilet), in an episode. I would also have some of the top ghosts work with each other to take over the world, the spirit *and* human world.

I would write a few episodes for "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." One would involve the evil turtles Slash, Metalhead, and Tokka working together to take out the ninja turtles. Another would involve the Punk Frogs turning evil for real. A third would be about Lieutenant Granitor (the gray colored stone warrior who wears a blue helmet and hangs out with General Traag) getting his recognition. These are just the beginning for me.

I would create an episode for "the Care Bears" involving Cold Heart, Dark Heart, and No Heart working together to get rid of the Care Bears.

I would create an episode for "Gumby", of where all the blockheads (G, J, A, X, Y, Z, B, C, 1, and 2) decide to take out Gumby and his friends.

These are all my ideas for the moment, but I am sure I will think of some more to post. Some more good ideas are on their way.

The ratings would be so extremely bad they'd probably cancel the show before it even ended. You obviously don't like Family Guy. And if you do like Family Guy, you obviously want it to be something it's not.

That said, I'd love to write for Family Guy. That or Spongebob.

I think it would be fun to write a short episode of Beavis and Butt-head; you could essentially pick any situation, stick Beavis and Butt-head in it with all their idiocies, and come out with something funny.

If we're only talking about currently running shows, though, I'd probably go for Family Guy. The plot concepts of the recent episodes have been solid, but they don't have any real laughs, because the writers don't seem to be taking advantage of all the opportunities for humor (especially in "Baby Not on Board" and "The Man with Two Brians"). I think any fan of the show could probably turn out scripts better than the ones we're seeing in the Season 7 episodes.

I think I'd feel right at home if I was on Futurama's writing staff. Then again, the chances of me getting there now aren't very good, since the next DTV might be their last.

I'm not as big a fan of the show as DarthGonzo is (I just watch FG when I can) but I have to agree with him on this. That episode sounds like nothing that I'd want to see on Family Guy.

You know, not every die hard fan needs to love everything about a show, video game, song, etc. just because they enjoy it so much.

Additionally, those are things YOU may not want to see in "Family Guy", but those are things "I" would want to see, and I honestly do not see how it could ruin the show, the show is already in the toilet, and who knows, it might improve ratings, do not be so narrow-minded.

An episode of Mighty Max, just because the formula was fun.

1. Skull Master dialogue

2. An off-scene murder, usually performed by token monster (zombie, dracula, frankenstein, etc.)

3. Insert main body of adventure here with token villain

4. Vergil states he's not a chicken

5. Skull Master says something else that's awesome

6. Max or Norman says something witty at the end

7. End cap with Max talking about something relevant, like cultural folklore or mythology

Family Guy would be fun, as it's the kind of zany, slapsticky humor I like.

And (even though it's canceled now) I would love to have written for Sealab 2021. My brother and I actually wrote a fan script for it a few years ago that was basically a spoof of the movie Phone Booth, and we both thought it turned out fairly well and in-character. I need to dig that out wherever it is and give it another read just for fun.

You know, I think a new episode of the The Critic would be good for writing. The humor was very similar to what Family Guy uses today, and there would be plenty of topics and movies for Jay Sherman to go through in this generation. I'm sure I could pull it off.

I hate to disappoint anyone, and I do not mean to provoke any arguments, but I do not watch the show because of this. I can appreciate its satirical anarchy, in fact that is one thing I love about it, but some of its context is just plain mean and unfunny. It is probably one of my most favorite shows of all time, but there are some things I about it that I detest so much, sorry.

The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy would be a good show for me, mostly because it has a pretty simple writing style, and that most, if not all, of the script comes from the storyboard.

I agree a little bit. I liked the idea of Brian dating a cat.

Anyway, I don't think that Tiny Toons actually had a real contest. I thought that some young fans sent an unsolicited script and it was opened by the people at Warners by accident. I have read, however, that when The Twilight Zone was on the air, the creator had encouraged fans to send in their own scripts, and in the end, none were used. Only two of the 300 scripts read by the staff had professional quality, and those scripts didn't fir the mood of the show.

Anyway, back to the topic, I would want to write episodes of Family Guy, and maybe The Simpsons. As far as older shows go (I.E. ones that are off the air), I'd have liked to have written for Muppet Babies, Taz-Mania, Rugrats, and Hey Arnold.

Now that's an ep of FG I'd watch! :)

I'd write an episode of FOP where Cosmo's cruel behavior is finally dealt with, and the little schmuck actually learns a lesson from it. And I bet I could make it funny too. It'd be cool to try to fix the show rather than just gripe about it all the time...
