if you found a $1800 bike would you keep it answer for a chance for 25 points?

The proper thing to do is make damn sure it is worth that before you turn it in and YES I would most certainly turn it in because if it is registered thru the National bike registry then it would come back to haunt you in more than one way. It would be considered a Felony for having it and not reporting it and the burden of proof is on you. Second you will be looking over your shoulder forever....Third, turning it in is just the right thing to do no matter what kind of bike it is!

Found it? Receiving stolen property? $1800 bicycles don't usually go out and get "lost" on their own for you to "find" it. I would contact the police dept and ask what to do. If they want to impound it, I believe you can ask for it and keep it after the statute of time has passed. The police usually have an auction of found, unclaimed property anyway. You could post that you found the bike on Craigslist or such.

My friend had his over $1800 bicycle stolen from his house. We were out riding two months later and saw his bike. We literally took the bike out from under the person riding it and verified the serial number. We left with the bike and the dude who was riding was now walking. That could happen to you -- or get beat up by the person who owned it in the first place.

i would keep it if you bike depends what kind of bike. if its a mountain bike i wouldnt cause i dont mountain bike if it is a bmx bike yeah cause i bike

If I had a truck and I didn't live in the same town where I found it defintaly.

Otherwise I would leave the bike and let someone else steal it.
