If you feel discriminated against or judged in a wrong/bad way at a store, etc,

should you complain or no? My looks/wardrobe varies, and every so often I get into my wild/eccentric phase, can be a bit punk-rock, and perhaps gothic, now keep in mind that I'm a guy and I'm 28, so that can look weird I'm sure, especially to certain crowds at a mall. I'm also bi. SOOOOO, even on my good days I can look "gay." Basically I can't win. Conform or be individual, I'm skewwed. :-) Lots of places are just fine with me, but some actually do downright discriminate against me, one lady ignored me as to help me, and if there is any niceness involved, it's very phony. This doesn't happen everywhere and depends on the day, but I've noticed even more security guards around me on certain days, and wouldn't put it past the other people working at the stores to complain about ME. I'm almost sure its happened.

Now keep in mind, I NEVER throughout my years of visiting these stores, EVER did anything wrong, never wore anything "wrong," never said anything "wrong." everything was kept within legal boundaries.

All my "Crime" is, is appearing different than what people are used to and like/appreciate, so I either get dirty looks at times, snubs, or just outright intolerance and anger.

SO if I witness this, over and over and over and over, from the same stores,.....other than NOT going there anymore, which is always an option, and I try not to, believe me, should I do something about it, speak to management, make a bigger issue out of it, or just let it go?

The problem with "letting it go" is, this type of stuff will keep happening not just to me, but to others,...it seems like everyone has to put up with either judgements, snobbery, or rude behavior.

ANd if you do complain, more likely than not, nothing will really happen, who knows. Perhpaps if you talk to the district manager, and make it more serious.

I don't want to waste alot of my time doing that but,..many of the people in these stores are just ...strange and insulting. Their whole world is fashion/image, they snap judge you in a nano-second, and act very rude/dismissive if you don't "measure up" or are different, and well, there's a whole lot of negativity in there.

Are those people aware that a) they're not the shit and b) an entire world exists outside of their small/limited "shop?"????

It's almost NOT worth it at all, but yet....I can't go on experiencing the same BS.
I've actually HAD things, rude things said to me by a few employees over the years, and things HAVE happened that I could have done something about, I just chose not to. However,..it just keeps going.
