If you do not own a gun, why? All responses are appreciated, you will remain anonmous?

Its a paper for my college freshman seminar class. I have to interview someone on why they have chosen not to own a gun. It would be nice if you could also include an anonymous description (i.e., age, sex, race, occupation, and marital status). thanks again
 
I have children and they have friends. In my opinion you can either have guns in a house or children, but not both. Furthermore, you odds of being killed during a burglary go up 400 percent if you can provide a gun for the burglar. I am not likely to suffer a home invasion and the risk is too slight to justify keeping a deadly weapon that neighborhood kids could find.

why do i need a gun, there is evidence that shows that people get hurt from owning the gun and mishandling it.. i wouldn't want a gun, seems like i am asking for trouble
 
One of my favorite spy shows was Danger Man. The main character had 3 very good reasons:
* They're dangerous
* They're noisy
* They make people nervous

On the rare occasion I've had to deal with the bad guys, things went better for all of us since I didn't have a gun. (They went to jail; I went home.)

I have practiced with a gun, but don't own or carry one. 53. Male. White. Married.
 
I do not have a gun because

1. They are expensive
2. You need a permit here, and its a hassle
3. I havent had any training, and they are dangerous
4. I dont have a place to practice shooting

I do not own a Gun.But my sons have guns and my Dad owns a gun shop,I grew up with guns and I know how to use One,If I need to.I guess I never really felt the need to have one.

Better still, why own a gun. What exactly are you going to do with it. Kill some one or something?
 
I am 25, female, white and I am a manager for a grocery store. I dont own a gun because I have a fear of them. I grew up in a very abusive home and saw my mother threatened with a gun many times. I was shot in the face by my stepfather (on purpose) with a pellet rifle when I was 15 because he was mad that I had left the backdoor unlocked. So, that is why I dont own a gun. Not that I have anything against those who choose too, they just make me uncomfortable.
