If you could remake any movie; which one would it be; and why?

Absolute Beginners

I would like to see a version that stayed closer to the spirit of the book, and that captured the times and social attitudes with more accuracy.

Pop stars in key roles would be a no-no, in fact I would not even make a musical as such

I think that for the time frame it was made in and the budget size and how far things had come in makeup fx, they did pretty good with old Rev himself. But I agree with you pal, to remake this movie would do Rex justice so it would. Imagine how he would look with todays makeup fx he would make you poop in your pink frilly panties. Hell, the old version of Rex gave me nightmares for weeks when I was 10 as that was when I saw it. This would have been like 19 years ago mind. I'd like to see this movie remade to do it some real justice but no pretty boy actors in it to appeal to the women, just real actors thank you.

My nomination for a re-imaging:

28 Weeks Later - Don't include yanks in it this time and make the storyline better. Better meaning that it should be more interesting like the first movie was. Hell, while watching 28WL all I was waiting on were The Infected turning up, the storyline dragged and was boring as funk. It did not have the ghost town like feel to it that the first one had, and it did not have the doom and gloom atmosphere to it the first one had. In the original it felt like there would be no hope for them, never felt like that in the sequal. It felt more like a making it for the sake of doing so kind of thing.

I would remake my favorite movie of all time, Metropolis.

I would try and maintain most of the elements of the original script including sets and scenes and use totally unknown actors.

Jason and the Argonauts: love the old film and love harryhausen but I would love to see a modern version , especially to see ILM's crack at the walking statue and the warring skeletons.

When Kate lets go of Jack and he drops down under the sea I would have someone from one of the lifeboats give her clout on the back of the head with an oar - preferably in slow motion. Hopefully she would follow Jack into the icy depths.

God awful film. That is 2 hours of my life I will never get back.
