If you could meet a cartoon voice in person

For meeting a female VA, I'd want to meet Grey DeLisle because she does the voices of many of my favorite animated characters (Sam, Kimiko, Mandy... the list goes on), plus she's an accomplished singer.

As for males, I'd choose David Kaufman. Why? Check my avatar.

Replying to Mr. Penguin's post: Nathan Lane has done cartoon voice work voicing Timon in "The Lion King" and Spot/Scott in "Teacher's Pet". I remember seeing Nathan on stage (but never backstage) in Feb. 2001 in the "Producers" musical which was in a Chicago stage tryout months prior to its start of its long NYC Broadway run.

Well, many years ago, I did meet a cartoon voice. I was lucky enough to meet June Foray, and watch her perform an episode of Rocky and Bullwinkle. Her skill at doing Natasha Fatale and Rocket J. Squirrel had not diminished with the years. A most memorable evening. :D

Here's a brief list of voice actresses I'd like to meet, in no particular order:

Patty Maloney (I've exchanged email with her since 2003)
B.J. Ward (should bring Stand-Up Opera to South Dakota)
Vern?e Watson-Johnson
Nancy Cartwright

I don't know if it is voice related, but animatronic voice related: In 2004 I got to tour Creative Engeneering with Aaron Fecther, the founder and voice of Billy Bob, Looney Bird, and Rolfe De Wolfe of the Creative created and produced Rock-afire Explosion shows originally seen in the 1980's (before the Chuck E. Cheese's takeover in the early 1990's) at the ShowBiz Pizza Place chain.

At the moment, Megan Smith (Gwenn Tennison), Tara Strong (many) Steve Blum (many), Wendee Lee (many), Megan Fahlenbach (Deets), The cast of Juniper Lee and Code Lyoko.

My list tends to fluctuate depending on the anime or shows I'm watching at the moment.

Right now I'd like to come across, even online,

Megan Smith from Ben 10

Anyone from Oban Star Racers but Chiara Zanni in particular

Anyone from Life and Times of Juniper Lee

Anyone from Avatar the Last Airbender

I always sound like a shipper when I actually get to talk to them and they really can't say anything about the show very much, but it is really fun to know that they know how much I like what they've done.

Hi, I came across this site a while ago and as a lifelong follower of cartoons, good and bad, I would like to contribute as well. I think I have seen just about every cartoon over the years from Tom and Jerry, Flintstones, Bugs Bunny and Woody Woodpecker to current stuff like Simpsons, Family Guy, South Park and a new show I started watching Moral Orel.

Not only have I watched all these greats, I have always been into behind the scenes stuff, especially the people who do the voices and many of who I have either met or wrote to. The list of stars I have met from cartoons is quite long, from people like Lisa Daniels, who was a voice in 101 Dalmations to Carolyn Lawrence, who voices Orel. I have written to both Mel Blanc and Walter Lantz before they died and I received a signed autographed photo from Mel about a year before he died. He was a true genius, who I admire very much. I found out that he acted in over 800 different cartoons, tv shows and movies in over 60 years of work. That is absolutely incredible.

Since then, I have been able to meet many of my favorite of current cartoons, including many Simpsons and Family Guy stars, from Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Yeardley Smith, Tress MacNeille, Seth Green, Mila Kunis and Alex Borstein. They were all very nice people.

I was really excited to meet both creators too at different times, Matt Groening and Seth McFarlane. They were both quite nice, especially Matt, who I remember talking to and signing for what had to be 100 people at this show. Seth was pretty cool too.

Anyways, that's enough for now. I have many more stars to talk about. Another time. Thanks. Glenn

Care to explain what an American Seiyu voice actor actually is? Is it an American voice-over actor who is dubbing Japanese cartoons?

:confused::confused:

Honestly, I don't think I've ever heard that term before in my life. I did some Googling and didn't turn up anything relevant beside this thread.
