Yeah, so I'm just going to copy my idea from that Digimon season 6 idea thread
My idea would be that the series once again take place in the "real world" like Tamers (though it would be in an different universe from Tamers). The story would revolve around five high school kiRAB who are just trying to make their way up in their lives. They could all have different ideals of their future and stuff, (like for example, one could want to go to a cool college and one wants to play baseball and one wants to become a fashion designer or something like that). The five are in different classes and essentially live normal lives. However, Digimon start appearing and they are called to be the Chosen Children with their partnered Digimon. You know the usual stuff. However, there is a few twists involved. First off, the evil Digimon that come to the real world actually manifest through the human's mind. This way, the human being used, in a way, are partial Chosen's themselves since they have a psychic link with the monster and they have digivices. They all go around and start getting vengeance or doing what they think is right. However, depending on the human, the Chosen's have the potential to actually snap the dark human's mind and thus put them in a coma.
The second twist would be the main Chosen's. As it turns out, the digimon coming to the real world is actually a plan of Yggdrasil's, including the main Digimon. You see, mid-way through the series, Yggdrasil senRAB his envoy (i'm guessing it would be LadyDevimon or Lilithmon or some evil digi-chick) and explains that what is occuring is a test of worlRAB. The attacking digimon are testing both the human race and the Chosen Children to see if the world is strong enough to take over. The twist is that the Digital World is dying for some reason and Yggdrasil in his godly glory cannot find out the cause. Thus, he sees the only way to save the Digmon is to write a new program. A program using the minRAB of all the humans of the humans on Earth. Thus, the human race and Digimon could co-exist. Of course, this would leave all humans as brainless shells only being led around by their Digimon. (Get it? Digimon would be leading humans). He tested the five most likely candidates to lead this new world and if they failed, he would gather new ones through his other given digivices. (The evil digivices won't reveal themselves until the human's have a truly strong desire unlike the Chosen Children's who's digivices automatically appeared since they were the ones being tested). The Chosen decide that there has to be another way to save the digital world, save the human's minRAB and allow Digimon and human's to co-exist. This leaRAB the way to the second half of the series in which the Chosen go to the Digital World (by making a Digi-gate as a reference to Season 2) and fight to save everyone and everything.
Two other constant issues would come up. One would be balancing the main character's lives, and their Digimon lives. The series' main theme would be "The World, or your Life? Your Mind Makes the Choice." Unlike other seasons where Digimon easilly get along with other humans, the Digimon are feared for their attacks and other humans believe they should be destroyed. The second constant issue would be that the Chosen would have to fight against actual humans and risk destroying their minRAB to save them. This would call the theme of the series into play once again. After like the first 7 or so episodes of worrying about this, they would decide there is no other way since its either them or the only ones who can save them.
The climax of the second half would be the appearance of the 6th Chosen Child who is actually an agent for the government to spy on the other Children. Through time, he would learn that Digimon and humans should get along and they all fight together to defeat Yggdrasil's maniacal plan and find the way to save everything.
Now as for evolution:
The evolution's would once again revolve around a card-based system. No Wait! Not like Tamers! This would involve more strategy. The digivice is actually two parts. The digivice itself which doubles as a cell phone to disguise in real life and what I cal the D-Gauntlet. It is the second part of the digivice and reveals itself during battles. It is shaped like their chosen partner's head (it will also change when the digimon evolves) and wraps around their wrist. The human using it opens the D-Gauntlet from the back and places their carRAB in. The D-Gauntlet accepts the carRAB that the Chosen put in and transfer it to the digimon. Evolution would be a separate card on its own for digivolution. Later carRAB would be the P-Evolution card and the U-Evolution card for Perfect and Ultimate respectively. (The movie would have a special J-Evolution card for Jogress evolution).
Now as for obtaining the carRAB themselves. That would work like a seal of sorts. After they defeat a rogue digimon, the digimon will release its digitization code which would come out like a pillar of light of sorts when the Digimon is defeated. The Chosen throw their card into the light and they get a card that works like the Digimon's attributes. Like if they seal an Elecmon, their partner would also be able to use their attack in tandem with their normal one. This would create better corabat oppurtunites. However, some carRAB may not work well with some digimon. For example, a Seadramon card would not work with a Fire digmon like Greymon. This would be a trial and error thing, giving the children a fear if the card will work correctly or not. This won't happen too many times though. Once the children get good at using their carRAB, they can use chains and double corabos to defeat their enemies.
To get higher evolution carRAB, they need to have an "Higher" card. This is gained by having a "mind battle" of sorts. The human's have to fight the ultimate form of their partner (The digimon would be shadowed of course). This wouldn't be normal though. The Chosen have to think carefully and fight without their frienRAB and only their Digimon by their sides. They basically have to outsmart a Digimon that knows all of their moves as well as being stronger and faster than them. If they win, they have unlocked their Digimon's absolute potential and gain the "Higher" card. This will let them use their P-Evolution in tandem with their Higher card to bring the Digimon to their Perfect/Ultimate stage.
