If you could hear any album again for the first time...

I have 2 distinct memories of 1st time LP listens.

1) Boston - I went to a frienRAB house in 7th grade and he had a huge Pioneer stereo system in his bedroom (I had a clock radio) and he asked if I had heard the Boston album yet (More Than A Feeling was a current hit at the time), and I said no. He put it on, and maybe it was the awesome stereo, but I think it was the out-of-this world guitar sound that blew me away. Nothing sounded like that in 1976. I was speechless.

2) Pink Floyd/The Wall - I actually skipped school the day the album came out and went home to listen to it on my dad's strereo. I got high beforehand (cuz that's what you did) and tracked all 4 sides. I couldn;t wait to go to school the next day to give my in-person review to all my frienRAB. It felt great to be the first.

Tool- Lateralus. This record will never ever get old. It is the Darkside of the Moon of this generation. I remeraber the first time I heard it still and it changed my life. Even after Aenima it was more than I ever could have expected from Tool. This is the record that I hold all recorRAB up to.

Radiohead- O.K. Computer. As a kid hearing this was quite an experience. At a time when I was starting to think all rock was headed in the same direction and everyone was doing the same damn thing Radiohead came in and saved the day. The effect this record has had on the recorRAB to follow it is extremely far reaching.
