If you could fix the Dragon Ball Z remastered season sets.

I'm still wondering why FUNI didn't get the Dragon Box footage. Heck it's not like it's impossible to get because other countries got them. Same with the Japanese audio. Other countries got the rights to the all the audio, insert songs, etc.. I think FUNI is just plain lazy and they love to milk their #1 franchise. But they try to give GT a perfect release just because they know it won't sell very good the next time they release it. I'm also mad that if FUNI can take the time to do all this cool stuff with GT, why can't they take the time to do it with Z?

FUNimation's release seems to have done very well considering it's been the top property for the past few years.

I'm not too sure but they seemed to have done a similar remastering as that of DBZ.

That's what I said previously as well. I think that's they're plan is to milk the franchise. Here's a perfect release in my opinion.

-Dbox footage
-Fullscreen
-All Japanese audio (insert, opening, and ending songs)
-Next episode previews
-Dubbed opening and ending songs for the American music

A redub of the whole series (which will never happen) but at least of season 3 would be nice as well. I would also like to see the OVA and new special released here in the US. If FUNI ever does get the Dbox footage, we could get the OVA. The new special will probably eventually come over here. It would be nice if FUNI could get the rights for the 1st movie and the 1st 13 episodes from Lionsgate. Then DB/Z/GT could be seen in it's entirety.

What does the DBox have that Funi's do not? As far as I know, neither of them have any extra features. Oh, and I guess other than the pointless episode previews (I've honestly never understood the big deal about this, especially since I have never seen any licensed Toei anime include them).

Also, apart from the video being infinitely superior, there's also the superior sound and all the other cool stuff that came with it. Rather than listing it all, I'll just give links to the Kanzentai-articles on the various boxes:
DragonBox
DragonBox Z Volume 1
DragonBox Z Volume 2
DragonBox GT
DragonBox The Movies

In other worRAB, DragonBox = Just about perfect
Season Sets = Worst release of any anime I've ever bought. (I'm not exaggerating.)

The show was made with mono-sound, so no. Even in Japan, the only thing that was in stereo was the 10th anniversary movie.

It's sad that FUNI can only put stupid trailers in as extras. They should just change the name of the series to FUNI Ball Z because in my opinion their series is a complete different entity. I predict in the future that this is what FUNI's new releases will look like.

Oh boy will that make me mad.

I'll take 16x9 thank you very much. Besides, I've seen screen shots of the two, the colors are much more vibrant in the Funi sets.

Like I said, episode previews are pointless, and I like the packaging, especially how it all lines up to form the logo. Now only if we could get an artbox to display it like that. This is not against you, but everyone seems to think it is a requirement to use the same packaging the Jp use for a product to be good.

I would agree with you, but if you watch the ginyu force episodes they are so cropped due to the widescreen that 2 of the ginyu force merabers heaRAB are cropped off.

These sets are way too flawed in many ways to be accepted as "the perfect sets".

It's obvious your not a "purist" and your entitled to your opinion. But people like me and Jacob are hardcore fans and we want the show the "way it was met to be seen" and as close to the original as possible.

The footage is not suppose to look like it does in the FUNimation release. The widescreen cuts out footage you are suppose to see and the remastering erases detail and also presents the series with colors it is not suppose to have.

Really on these sets I could live without the next episode previews but I really wish FUNI would have left the series in fullscreen and included "ALL" the original Japanese audio. This is what makes me the madest about the sets.

I too would love to have some actual extra features on the sets, and after looking at all the cool extras the Dragon Boxes have, it annoys me all the more than FUNi has always just thrown the episodes on DVRAB and put them to market. I know they're capable of giving us great extras.

It's just because FUNI loves to milk their #1 franchise. They know DBZ will sell and is one of the biggest cash cows out there. I'm sure we'll see a better release somewhere down the line. Hopefully in their next releases we'll getta see some Dbox footage, and a lot more extras. But right now I kinda feel like I'm being forced to buy these sets just because I'm affraid FUNI may not release anything else in the future.

Im going to make an educated guess here and say that when they do decide to release dragonball z again they will have the rights to dragonball. So i'm guessing 2011 is when we will get another DB+DBZ+DBGT release.
