Was Jesus a Marine? Could you do the same as he did? He said "I have conquered the world". What he meant was that since the world alienated from God is under the control of Satan the Devil it puts enormous pressure on each person to conform to it., to compromise. Jesus resisted this pressure even to the point of giving his life. However he died because of his choice to live his life by righteous principles and put the love and service of his God and father first. He didn't let the world squeeze him into it's mold. He never took up a weapon, or even owned a place where he could call home, or had a political office, but he became the greatest man who ever lived.Napoleon is reported to have said: “Jesus Christ has influenced and commanded His subjects without His visible bodily presence.”
What did you learn about the Bible in boot camp? Do you know God's name, his purpose for the earth and man, what he requires of us, and what he will do for the earth in the future? The word "Christ" means "anointed one". Jesus was anointed by Jehovah, his father, to be the King of our incoming world government: God's Kingdom. Many people have gained great strength and suffered to remain faithful even to death because they choose to put God and Christ first. I personally met a man who was hanged by a mob during world war 2 , in December 1942 at Winnsboro, Texas, because they were angry at him for preaching the good news of God's Kingdom. A Baptist preacher had stirred up the mob by claiming that Jehovah's Witnesses would not die for "old Glory".Fortunately for him the rope broke:

Brother Pillars was repeatedly beaten into unconsciousness, then revived and beaten again. Finally, unable to bring him to, the mobsters soaked him with cold water and tried to make him salute a two- by four-inch flag, according to him, “the only flag these great ‘patriots’ could find.” As they held it up, they would also hold up his arm, but he let his hand droop down, showing he would not salute. Soon they had a rope around his neck, jerked him to the ground and dragged him to the jail. Dimly he heard them say: “Let’s go ahead and hang him. Then we’ll be rid of those Witnesses forever.” Not long thereafter, they tried just that. Brother Pillars writes: “They put the new one-half-inch hemp rope around my neck, tying the hangman’s noose behind the ear, and dragged me into the street. Next the rope was thrown over a pipe that extended from the building. Four or five mobsters began pulling on the rope. As I was lifted off the ground, the rope tightened and I lost consciousness.”

“Later, when the F.B.I. made an official investigation and this led to a grand jury inquiry, a group of Pentecostal men were willing to testify. They said: ‘Today it is Jehovah’s witnesses. Tomorrow it will be us!’ When they described the hanging, they said: “We saw him dangling on the rope. Then it broke. When we saw the rope break, we knew it was the Lord that broke it.’”
I met this man in 1980 in Amarillo Texas, and he was still serving God faithfully as a minister, and the scar that the rope left on his neck was plainly visible. If you ever go to the national holocaust museum in Washington D.C. you can see that this same people were in the concentration camps of Hitler where they were identified with purple triangles. You can also google "purple triangles" and read about them. They were the only group of people who cold have left at any time just by signing a piece of paper renouncing their faith. I go go on, but let me just say that this is what real strength is all about. The strength Jesus had, and those who truly follow and serve him, and who are the only ones who obey his command at Matthew 29:19,20.
