if you boost your metabolism, will it burn off your stored fat?

So ive been trying to lose weight , and by doing so ive been boosting my metabolism, drinking lots of water and green tea, eating 4-6 small meals, excercising 8 times a week etc etc

but i was wondering if getting a fast metabolism will help burn off fat from your body thats say in your hips or on your belly for example

does it work that way??
