If you are pregnant when you get insurance, is it considered a pre-existing condition?

My husband changed jobs, but our new benefits will not become active until Aug. 31. I am going to cover us under my insurance during the three month period until they become active.
Prior to the change of companies, we were actively trying to get pregnant. Now I am afraid that if I get pregnant while on my insurance, his insurance will consider it a pre-existing condition when it becomes active - and not cover any of our expenses from it.
Is it safe to continue trying to get pregnant, or should we stop until the insurance for his new employer becomes active?
