D DLM Guest Mar 10, 2009 #2 You would not see Polaris from the southern hemisphere. With a latitude of about 0.5 degrees south or beyond, Polaris never rises. Blueshited stars would be coming towards us (or us coming towards them) Redshifting stars are going away from us.
