Yes basically. Insurance companies used to have policy's whereby you could drive any car so long as someone else was insured on it. Although these still exist, they are usually only for drivers over 25. A driving instructor will have special insurance on their car which will automatically cover you on their car when you are learning with him.

every car u drive? I always thort that wen u have a provisonal license that aslong as the person u are with (ur driving buddy) is insured on the car that u are allowed to drive (but not on motorways). but a freind has said that u need insurance drive their car. can u tell me who is right?
