If you already have an associate degree from a 2 year college, how long?

does it usually take to graduate from a 4 year college? Does it usually take 4 years, or does it take fewer? Typically, how many of the associate degree credits apply to a bachelors degree? I realize it differs from individual to individual and depends on the college and major, but I'm just wondering to what degree does an associate degree represent credits completed toward a bachelors?

It's about half. Usually you will need to go to 4 year university for about 2.5 years to finish out a BA. If you want to take a few classes during the summer or winter session then you can probably get it done in two years.

If you already hold an Associates, it should not take 4 years to earn a Bachelors if you are taking 12+ credit hours a semester, especially if your Associates is in a related field. Even if it isn't, you won't need to take the basics.....English Comp, Algebra, Psych, Speech, etc, since you have already earned them. Look at your transcript and compare it to the requirements of the Bachelors you wish to earn. The classes you already have taken, you don't take again. Some courses you have already earned credits in that aren't listed as requirements for the Bachelors, but are similar to those that are might be substituted. Make an appointment with an academic advisor at the college you plan on attending, bring your transcripts, and see what they recommend.
