If you start a business in India from 1st Feb, then by 31.3.08 the financial year ends. From 1st April 08 to 31st March 2009 another financial year. From 1st April 09 to 1st Sep.09 five months in another financial year.

Actually no months were completed since you failed to apply for a federal identification number.
