90% purport to be religious with a shared moral code -- and look at the mess we have always been in.
 
But mainstream religions, moral systems, and any other standard code of ethics is the result of many individuals sharing the same ethical standard, being the socially defined concept that it is. So to answer your question, no, civilization will not collapse, because people would simply reorganize a new moral system within which their actions can be controlled and modified.
 
you can't cut things out. if you want civilization you have to take the whole package, whether you want it or not. your question is inherently impractical. without religion, moral systems or any code of ethics you have... animals. and that, my darling, is not civilization.
