Evolutionists begin with the presuppostion that matter, the universe, and all its governing laws are the only things that exist. This is at its most base, intellectually dishonest. At its most grand, a prime example of circular reasoning.
How can I assert the universe is all there is, if in fact, I've never been outside the universe? To put it another way, how can I know I'm in a box, unless I first step outside the box?
To use an analogy you might enjoy, consider this. Nero had no way of knowing he was in the Matrix, until he first emerged from the Matrix. He had no way of knowing there even WAS a Matrix, until he first emerged from the Matrix.
Evolutionists attempt to use their mind (a product of evolution) to evidence evolution. This is akin to saying the Matrix is all there is, because I who live in the Matrix, use the Matrix to prove the Matrix is all there is. Again, this is not only illogical, it is self defeating as well as intellectually repugnant.
Shall I trust my meticulous observation? I cannot, for my meticulous observation is a product of my mind. Scientific enquiry? Again, product of my mind. Theoritical reasoning? Product of my mind. Any effort at using my mind to measure my mind is a product of circular reasoning, for any argument to check the validity of another argument is itself an argument that might be wrong.
All of Nero's meticulous observations, his scientific enquiry, his theoretical reasonings, and even his belief that his universe was all there was, told him nothing about the truth of his universe. How could it, for he was using the very thing he was seeking to understand. For all he knew, the universe could have been nothing more than a dream. Imagine the horror. A man attempting to use his dream to understand his dream.
How did he discover the truth then? Ultimately of course, by stepping outside the Matrix. But the only way he could do this… was after someone from the outside first stepped in.
…after someone from outside first stepped in…
Two-thousand years ago, a man by the name of Jesus Christ spent a number of years making certain claims about himself, about this universe, and about both you and I. He stated in no uncertain terms that he was God. He forgave people who did others harm. Others! Not wrong done to himself, but wrong done to others. He referred to himself as the I am. Not a I will be, nor a I was, but the I am. This was a Jewish way of saying that he claimed he is at every moment now and forever, present to everyone who has ever lived, is living, or ever will live.
In addition to this, he performed a variety of miracles that boggle the imagination. Judaism unwittingly acknowledges these miracles to this day by referring to him as a sorcerer. He was no sorcerer of course, but a great many of his miracles are unparalled all the same. All this however, was only the prelude. He had not yet offered the blue pill.
The blue pill came in this. He stated that he would be executed, and that his execution would be the means by which humanity could be restored into a place of proper relationship with him. He was indeed executed, and in particular, for making the claim he was God. Three days later however, he demonstrated the truthfulness of his claim by doing what scientific observation says is impossible. Namely, he overcame death.
Jesus Christ rose from the dead, having overcome death, never to die again. This act, something we Christians call the resurrection, was a historical event attested to by the eyewitness accounts of more than five-hundred credible people. (Credible, in that their accuracy concerning all other moments of their history are impeccable. Why then should the resurrection be any different?)
To use another analogy, how do we know Abraham Lincoln gave the Gettysburg Address? We have no photographs of the moment, no film, nor even the actual speech itself written in Lincoln's own handwriting. What we do have, the only thing we have in fact, are the testimonial accounts of credible witnesses. Reporters, correspondants and even members of the public, to name a few.
I wouldn't want you to think Christians don't use their minds however. That's ridiculous. Of course Christians use their mind. But Christians live first and foremost by revelation. We are those you can say, who have swallowed the blue pill. We use our minds indeed, and a great many more than you realize in various scientific fields, but only to gather what the Great Mind from outside has revealed. We walk about and interact with those who live in this world (the Matrix), but we are ultimately not of the Matrix. We are those who have been awakened. We know there is a God, for we interact with Him in our spirit.
Evolutionists on the other hand, starting with their own minds, set out using the methods of their own minds, to prove that their own minds are the only minds that exist. This
