Most dividends amount to pitance of no big help. Some banks like Citibank have done this.

A very good question.Between them they have billions in assets they could of merged or sold to each other,or loaned,there were other ways and I think could of done better.What happens the next time? Or they could even have cut some losses themselves,the stockholders would only get a set amount far below what they expect and tighten their budget just like all of us do.I think its a crock and if it fails we are royally screwed.
