If u had to choose in what time period and in what country would u serve in the army?

Would you rather fight for Ancient Rome, or for America in WW II.

Would u fight for the Mongols on horseback or in the Crusades as a knight.?
It can be any time period , like caveman, to present day. Any country, kingdom, empire, etc.
