Oh God No they should never ever remake it, it's a childhood classic a remake would totally ruin it. I don't think anyone is more perfect for that role than Bowie, I spent my childhood terrified of him because of that film
I have to say that I watched again the other day and it's one of those films for children only because being a grown up and all now, you can spot the very bad effects they used. It's a still a good film though after that
Too many films are ruined by being remade - Labyrinth was absolutely perfect for it's time and although Bowie isn't the most accomplished actor the world has ever seen, he fitted the part asolutely. It just wouldn't be the same without his horrible trousers and bad frightwig
Never remake Labyrinth! It would never be as good!
I do think it's about time for a movie like Labyrinth to be made, things just seem too CGI and so on, that good old fashioned puppets and music have been ignored!
Thank you, at least one person has tried to think of something rather than saying no, it shouldn't be done etc. It's only a bit of fun and fantasy. A bit like the film really.
If they do a sequel it should be Bowie and Jennifer Connolly back for it. She is a good actress and has been in a lot of things since she was a teen in Labyrinth. The story could be that her own teenage daughter goes into the Labyrinth world. It should be done with puppets like the new Dark Crystal film.
If the sequel was set in real time then her baby brother Toby would be around 20.
Maybe the plot could follow him going after his sister (Jennifer Connolly)'s own child. The problem would be making the film original, and not just a remake.
