Any good Boy Scout troop that is into the outdoors. I`m an Assistant Scoutmaster for a troop in The Bronx, NY and we go out every month rain or shine. From hiking, rock climbing, canoeing/kayaking, skeet shooting, scuba diving and fishing. Not only do the scouts teach them the right way to do things(Leave No Trace, how to climb, hike and canoe/kayak safely and responsibly) but it also build character. 2 weeks ago we did a 5 mile hike in Harriman State park(Anthoyn Wayne to West Mtn Shelter), We did alternative ways to create a fire- Steel Wool and 9V battery, Magnesium and the Sparky, and used a fire piston. They built their own shelter stringing up ropes and tarps and then had to hike back out in the snow and ice. (the leanto was being used by a couple of AT thru-hikers).

Again it is important to find the right troop, as you can imagine not every scout troop in NYC is as active as we are when it comes down to going out and having fun in the outdoors.
Any questions feel free to ask.

non-profit, I'd say the Audubon Society, 4-H, that kind of stuff. In Maine, I'd say the Maine Conservation School.

For profit, LLBean has outdoor discovery schools. Check the links below.
