If there was a civilization so great that it survived for 1000 years?

If it was invaded many times over 3000 years, i don't see how it could stay the same. Even without being invaded, a lot will change over that long a period; pick an area and subtract 3000 years - whatever area you choose, you'll find a lot has changed.

To answer your second question, i'd let it stay the same, but i'm not the invader type. Someone like me would never invade anyplace, so i guess my answer to that question is pretty irrelevant. I think a person who thought so little of a civilization that they would invade them, would probably make SOME changes - at least a few.


ETA - I agree. Egypt has changed since then but yes, it's conquerors seem to have respected their history.
 
and it's last 3000 years was invaded, ruled by many other empires, would it remain the same as it started out?
And if you were the invader and you find that the nation you invaded has many great wonders, would you let it remain the way it was or change it to the way you like?

Haha, I know this question is weird.

But that's the way i feel about Egypt. People speak of it and it's people as if nothing has ever changed, for it's long history everything stayed the same.
So the way you find this question, is the same way I find the people who talk about egypt as if nothing ever changed.

yeah it would remain same in 3000 years. are you thinking of a plot of your new fantasy book? or are you 5 years old? yeah it would remain same in 3000 years. yeah

*can you really imagine a culture that would be same in 3000 years? can you? is it possible?
