If the snake in the Garden of Edin was really the Devil, why did God punish the snake?

Why didn't he punish the devil by making him crawl around on his belly with no legs, instead of punishing the snake who was only being used like a puppet ? There are so many kinds of snakes. Should they all be punished for what one particular type did. Should Pythons be punished along with Garden snakes?
Why does this all powerful god seem to have such a hopeless struggle with a mere "fallen angel"? How can he be all powerful if the devil wins so many people to his side? If the devil wins, doesn't that mean that God lost?
TREY J:---How wonderful it must be for you to be so far above our human curiosity.
Do you really think that anybody believes that you have it all figured out, and the proof is in the fact that you dismiss the question as unworthy?---Hogwash.

Nothing about the bible makes sense. If you try to make any sense of it you will be lost in a fairy tale forever. Read it for what it's worth, a very boring fiction story, with a terrible ending.

God will win out in the end,,the snake tempted Eve and got her to sin so God put a curse on them to crawl on their belly in the
dust all their live,s,,like the saying if the blind lead the blind
then they will both fall in the ditch,,if you deceive someone
God will deal with you at the judgment, and that,s where Satan
will see his end and the one,s who denyed God.

When Lucifer disobeyed God, Lucifer said "These creature are nothing, I shall never bow down to them." Then after realizing he was no longer God's highest worshiper, Lucifer asked for the chance to prove God that these creations were weak, and that if he were to go to hell, he would NOT go alone. God said fine, and now Lucifer (satan) is defying people, and testing their will with the aims of bringing them to hell with him.
FYI: I AM NOT CHRISTIAN!

why do ppl grow their tantilizing debates from the old testiment materials, & then use that to attack christians? hellooo, christians follow the new testiment too

like seriously....how relevent is that?...not veryyyy, try again =]

The word snake you are referring to is actually written as "the serpent."
The word "serpent" in Hebrew means "a shining one, an enchanter",

The word snake is not mentioned in Genesis or in the bible.
Satan as "the serpent" was cursed above all cattle and every beast....
and upon thy belly shalt thou go....., and dust shalt thou eat... -
These words imply the utmost humiliation, it has nothing to do with
a snake, the reptile in this earth.

first of all, no one said it was a snake. it was a serpent, which could've been something else entirely based on the method of translation. second, i'm not sure about the rant on snakes. weird, only because who knows why a christian god would do anything? isn't this the same god that wanted abraham to take his son as a sacrifice only to take it back after abraham had proved his loyalty by starting to get down to bidness? i mean, jesus christ that's bad. as for the fallen angel, well, perhaps this is just an allegory misinterpreted to be the actual circumstances upon which the religion was built. when in truth it is nothing more than a really good fable.

Figure of speech, like lower than a snakes belly.

God allows it, just like God will allow Satan to play God and deceive the whole world.

IT IS WRITTEN

You need to understand the three heaven and earth ages before you can understand why God allows it.

I am a Christian and I find this question very very interesting and I never thought of it....I just wished you asked it with sincerity rather than as a biased attack....

I looked it up online and apparently no one really knows for sure..One opinion that I find interesting is that God is holy, pure, good and just and in order to maintain that image, must punish all evil...though the snake itself alone didn't commit evil...it was used to make evil and thus, God being holy punished it for its evil

though this is just one theory...another is that animals were actually smarter then and the snake could have allowed itself to be possessed

but point is we don't really know...but just because we don't doesn't mean we attack it, rather we question it and learn from it...because if the story was a made up fairy tale I'm sure it would have been clearer on this matter, rather it is a true event that we just don't have all the information about (having not been there ourselves and only having a biblical poem to describe it)

God creation..he can do as he wishes..
He is not a fallen angel!! Gah i hate people who believe that
God never loses...people make their choices and god lets them...in the end its for gods glory etc.. God gives us free will to choose our religion....

from my understanding the serpent(before it became a snake) was the most beautiful creature in the garden and that's why satan used it,because how can something so beautiful and made by God be lying.

maybe God made it so the serpent would never be used that way again.
just a thought.
