I'd try to leave the country, personally. I'm not going to be forced into killing some strangers so that other strangers can live on land I'll never see, just because someone says I'm supposed to like the american strangers more than the enemy strangers.
I love the US, but I would never kill someone, much less die, for it. If I'm dead, I can't really appreciate the US anymore.

I enjoy my freedoms by paying taxes and obeying just laws. If the laws were too oppressive (like making me murder someone), I'd leave
it doesn't take courage to murder someone and then get shot in the face
I'm willing to WORK for the benefits of living in the US, but not willing to FIGHT for them. If I die I can't exactly use those freedoms anymore, can I?
