I would imagine that said person would be expected to sell their positions or at least put them in a trust to avoid the appearance of conflict.
 
States should the government ban? all purchases of Ford products by all government agencies to make sure there was no conflict of interest?

Ok Zap how did Biden become vice president if he wasnt elected? Wasn't his name on the ballot right next to Obama?
 
Ford did not take a cent of the bailout money, they are showing a profit and will show a 1.2 billion dollar profit in 2011, yet the Obama run GM and Chrysler want more money, hmmm.
 
Two faced hypocrites. Every member of this cabinet now has had ties with corporations, government agencies etc. They are all power players and no doubt have many connections. For anyone to say "conflict of interest", you might as well dump all the politicians in Washington. They all thrive on power connections, but listening to any of them you might think they were pure as the driven snow ! The joke is on us!!
 
Uhm, first, you don't elect VP's...and, secondly, if the bids from Ford were lower, its not a conflict of interest because their was actual public "bidding" ...Cheney didn't allow contract bidding...therein lies the rub.
