if someone's name starts with an "x" is Z a weird nickname?!?

I actually think that is a pretty smart nickname after all the X at the start of a name is pronounced Z - Xander - ZAN der, Xenon - ZEEN-on etc

I have a friend that has a little guy, Xander. We all call him Xander.

WHY DOES HE NEED TO HAVE A NICKNAME? If you wanted him to be called Z or X, then why not just name him Z or X?

I don't think Z is a weird nickname for someone with a name starting with "x". The sound the X makes sounds like a Z so no, I don't think it's weird.

ha... I had to think about that one for a sec. Not sure where you are but here we say Z like zed, not zee... which i'm guessing is how you say it?

but no, it's not weird, it's cute =)
my kids don't have grandpas, they both passed years ago. I think it's cool that they have a special thing just between them
