they get a job as a police office? The boot camp I'm talking about is the military boot camp

No. Reason being, getting kicked out of the military shows that you have no character and you are not responsible. Being kicket out for failing a drug test is even worse. Not only will you never get a job with the police, you will have an even harder time finding a job anywhere. I doubt that even McDonalds would hire someone like that.

Don't listen to LAVADOG_1/3 because he has no clue as to what he is talking about. Once you ship to boot camp, you are in the military, simple as that.

Yes you can..Your just given the boot..Your not discharged because your not in the military yet..

Your given a separation and that is that. No harm no foul.

Well, that depends on that person's RE Code (Re-entry code, found on the DD-214). If the discharge was actually an Entry Level Separation (as is usually the case), then yes. The only discharge code that precludes police service is a dishonorable discharge. That being said, this person needs to get him/herself OFF drugs because they're going to undergo a lot of urinalysis testing while they're pursuing a police career. There's a drug test at virtually every step of the process, and randomly throughout a policeman's career.

You can't fail a Urinalysis DURING boot camp. They drug test you before you even leave. I'm not sure what kind of discharge you would receive, but probably not. Being new and in boot camp, it would probably not show up.
