...infringement? my friend has made an album with pictures she has found of the internet, including some of mines and edited them (changed the colour, contract etc) without my permission, and i know i might be over-reacting perhaps because she is my 'friend' and all but i just don't like it when people take my photography like that!
so is she committing infringement?
or even so, she says i have no copyright because i put them on facebook so she can use them if she pleases, is this true?
(she got the photographs from facebook)
and i've privated all my photography albums now =]

where are your photos stored?

if they are stored on another site like flickr or deviantart then copyright is held by those sites so yes it is infringement. If they are stored on facebook copyright is held by facebook until you delete your photos.

What are the photos of? If they are of people your friends know then you may be overreacting

I'm thinking it's probably protected under fair use policy. Wherein one can edit/parody/or cover any piece of work without inflicting such charges. As long as she isn't claiming them as her own original work.

If she is, in fact, committing copyright infringement, there's very little you can do about since the pictures exist in a public domain and there is no registered trademark or copyright for them. If you feel that your rights have been infringed, you can contact facebook since your friend was required to check a box saying she owned the pictures and/or had permission to use them.
