If someone claims bankruptcy does the judge and the lawyer get to see how you...

...spent all credit card purchases? Because that might be extremely embarrassing and could the judge then also say, he didn't like how you got into this much debt from wasteful spending so he's going to deny the bankruptcy? Didn't know how the specifics work on that and was just very curious what people do then.
Thanks Answer me and the other people too- I might delete the question but I still pick you as best answer. I always delete questions that sort of say too much personal stuff about me, you know? But again, you helped answer a lot, thanks!

Yes they could if one of your creditors decides to grill you or if the judge thinks something fishy is going on. You see, the rationale behind this is that it is illegal to max out your credit KNOWING FULL WELL that you are going to be claiming bankrupcy. It is also illegal to lie on your credit apps when you apply for credit. Now if you get caught with either of these technicalities then during your bankrupcy proceedings the judge has the right to deny discharge of any debts affected by your "trickery" so to speak. But if neither the judge nor any creditor thinks anything is fishy then they won't poke around too much.

Say for example 2 months before filing you took your Amex card and went to best buy and bought $5000 worth of napster gift coupons and then went to Sears and bought $10000 worth of gift coupons guess what? Yeah that's fishy cuz they would suspect that perhaps you did that to milk your credit for all it's worth and then leave everyone holding the bag while you sold your gift certificates one ebay.

Anyway not to scare you too much but these are far out scenarious. If you are a straight player who just screwed up then no, you will be fine.
