If someone baked a cake and it was yuck would u eat it anyway out of kindness?

my partner wants me to bake a cake (or two) to take out to his family on xmas day.
ive only been making cakes a few weeks, but i admit most have turned out pretty yum.

only thing is im worried about baking a bad cake and none of his family liking it? Surely the kids will like it regardless? i should just do it hey?
