Yes but the real problem is even though many Republicans try to keep up with Democrats worthless promises of "free stuff", they can't. At some point, they get a cramp and can't win that race (although they really try) because they believe, at some basic level, that wiping out the economy thru bad fiscal policy is really bad for future generations. Dems have no conscience in this regard.
Even though Republicans keep arguing that they can manage the leviathan better and we shouldn't grow the beast at 20% a year, only at 12%, they are the only ones at a national level even giving a half-hearted fight. I agree, the Republicans should become a real opposition party or get out of the way.
You and your "team" are about to pull the whole thing down on our heads. Keep celebrating.
And yes, moderate Bush and republican congress did a horrible job in this area as well. They should have started ripping out ALL of your precious social programs by the roots and returned to fiscal responsibility when they had the power. They failed miserably. The solution is not to try to be Democrat light. It’s to protect the Republic from collectivist insanity.
