If pigeons can find their way home across hundreds of miles, why can't they

learn not to poo in the bird bath? It is only pigeons that poo in the bird bath and on the bird table. What is up with them?

Because it's advantageous to them to find their way home. It isn't advantageous to them to choose where to do their business, unfortunately.
