... since conservatives seem to be OK with Rush wishing for Obama's policies to fail, does that mean they will be happy if the economy gets worse or the recession is prolonged?

I, for one, am big enough to admit when I'm wrong, and yes, I'll be happy if Obama has some small part in "fixing" the financial crisis. I just flat don't think I'm wrong here, though.

I still stand by my original statement, which is, the economy has its ups and downs regardless of what political party is in power. It is easy to blame the President, so people do, just because he's handy. He has little power to do anything to affect an economic model that is DESIGNED to have ups and downs.

Frankly, having lived through the Carter years and seeing an exact carbon-copy repeat of the first of them here, I already know how this movie ends. We are not going to come out of this any different than we came out of the Carter years, and most of us know this from experience.

EDIT: Hey Les! While you're accusing Bush of spending trillions that we don't have, why don't you go take a look at Obama's spending plan.

If conditions get worse the conservatives will say that they're disappointed then go home and high-five each other that Obama failed....

they will be dancing in the streets. in fact republicans are so invested in Obama's failure that if Obama's plans do work the republican party is done. for a long long time.

Frankly, somebody needs to talk some sense into him before not only he fails, but the rest of the country. Who in their right mind spends trillions of $ that they don't have? Its insane.

Conservatives care more about their own political agenda than the welfare of the country, so I would say, "Yes".

"Who in their right mind spends trillions of $ that they don't have? Its insane." = Bush would.
